5 Pounds King Arthur Bread Flour
1 3/4 Cup Sugar
2 Tablespoons Salt
1/4 Cup Yeast
4 Cups Hot Water
1/2 Cup Oil
Put ingredients into mixer or bowl in the order listed. Mix well.
(May need a little more water)
Cover and let rise for 2 hours.
Shape the Challah.
Beat one egg with two teaspoons vanilla sugar
Brush egg wash over Challah.
Allow to rise another half hour.
Bake at 350° for approximately 30 minutes until golden. (This recipe is best made into smaller Challos- ten Challos from a 5 pound batch)
